Originally released in ’68 – the year Mexico hosted the XIX Olympiad – the adidas Mexicana celebrated Mexico’s rich history and sporting culture, with the country going on to host the world cup 2 years later and once more in 1986. These 2022 editions revive a truly classic adidas design. Taking design notes from vintage pairs made under license in Yugoslavia & West Germany, the results are a faithful reproduction that incorporates key archive details to create a fitting 2022 edition to sit alongside its predecessors. A rich golden yellow suede drapes the upper with soft leather overlays offering a highly satisfying contrast that’s synonymous with this type of adidas footwear.
