Mizuno have been hard at work creating another pack inspired by their Japanese heritage, this time tapping into the vibrant fishing community of the Kyoto prefecture. Taking influence from the architecture of Ine Town, in which the two story buildings functioned as both a dock for boats and a room for the fisherman, the shoes in this pack look to emulate these structures with a two tone colour scheme that creates two levels within the architecture of the shoe itself. The colours give off a nautical feeling, which runs in tandem with the fish illustrations present throughout the whole collection.
One plucked from Mizuno’s back catalogue of louder silhouettes, the Wave Prophecy LS is based on Yoshitaka Takahashi’s Wave Prophecy 8 silhouette as he combined a futuristic aesthetic of the brand’s full-length Infinity Wave midsole with AIRmesh breathability to create the brand’s high-end performance runner. The upper is comprised of a monotone navy blue constructed from leather and mesh. A small contrast is found on the heel with a red Mizuno Wave logo, contrasting with the duality of the bone and navy used throughout.
